Shepherd’s Crescent Pie

Second attempt at the Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest! Similar concept but this time I managed to stay within in the rules of seven ingredients and use the required ingredients. This recipe had to be prepped and assembled within 30 minutes. Helps to read the rules thoroughly! 


1 tablespoon Crisco® 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 pound lean ground beef
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 15 oz can Green Giant Mixed Vegetable Blend, drained
2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1 cup beef broth
1 Pillsbury® Refrigerated Reduced Fat Crescent Dinner Rolls 8 oz (8 ct)
1/2 cup Colby jack cheese, shredded


Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add oil to hot pan with beef. Season meat with salt and pepper. Brown and crumble meat for 5 minutes.

Add vegetables to the meat. Sprinkle flour over the meat and add broth. Bring mix to a boil stirring frequently. Simmer for 3-5 minutes or until broth starts to thicken. Pour meat into an un-greased pie dish.  

Remove Crescent Dinner Rolls from package and slice each roll sideways creating a total of 16 rolls.

Place rolls on top of meat pie. Sprinkle top with cheese. Bake pie for 15 minutes or until rounds are browned on top.
